Musandam Day Trip from Dubai

Oman fjords, dolphins and clear water — a full day out of the desert

From AED 220 / person

Musandam is the piece of Oman that juts into the Strait of Hormuz, and it looks nothing like the rest of the region. Mountains drop straight into deep green water, forming narrow inlets that get called the Norway of Arabia — not because they look Scandinavian, but because they are genuinely fjords.

It is a long day. We collect you before sunrise, drive up the coast and cross the border into Oman, and by mid-morning you are on a traditional wooden dhow heading out between the cliffs. Dolphins follow the boat more often than not.

The dhow anchors for swimming and snorkelling in water clear enough to see the bottom, lunch is served on board, and you are back in Dubai in the evening.

  • Hotel pickup and drop-off in Dubai
  • Air-conditioned transfer both ways
  • Dhow cruise with an English-speaking guide

Good to know

Do I need my passport for the Musandam trip?

Yes. Musandam is part of Oman, so you cross an international border and your original passport must travel with you — a copy or a photo will not be accepted. Check your own visa situation before booking, as entry rules depend on your nationality.

How long is the day really?

Thirteen to fourteen hours door to door, with about six of those spent driving. It is the longest tour we run, and worth planning a quiet day around.

Do I need to be able to swim?

No. The snorkelling stop is optional and life jackets are available. Plenty of guests stay on deck and enjoy the fjords from there.

Are the dolphins guaranteed?

They are wild animals, so nobody can promise them — but sightings on this route are common, and the crew know where to look.
